This position is only available for Work Study eligible students.

Join our Communications Department and gain real world experience working in an environment representative to a real television studio. This position is specific to being the assistant to SUU’s TV Studio Manager. As the TV Studio Assistant, you will have the opportunity to assist in the creation of university video content. Main responsibilities of the position include studio clean-up and organization, editing existing video projects, archiving older video projects, DVD burning/creation, pre-production live event video setup and grip responsibilities, operating video cameras and studio equipment, and post-production video editing and video archiving using the Adobe Creative Suite/Adobe Premier Pro. Also, at times, this position will be directly involved in the process of filming university events, classes, administrators, and more. This is an ideal position for a Communications Major student. The ideal candidate will also have experience with advanced filming, editing, lighting techniques, and in-the-field video production skills. The candidate must have prior video editing knowledge and experience with Adobe Premier Pro video editing software. A background in journalism and/or communications is also a plus.

Qualifications:

Must be able to complete projects and meet deadlines.

Must thrive in a collaborative team/work environment.

Solid knowledge of Adobe CC including Premier Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects

Experience archiving video footage and creating DVDs

Ability to organize video production equipment

Experience in journalism, marketing, and/or communications is a plus.

Must be able to set up a shoot, lights, tripods and other various equipment.

Must be able to properly lift and carry equipment weighing over 50 lbs.

Must have strong organizational and personable skills.

Experience with Google office applications.
